PAPA is a free wearable arts showcase, fashion parade and musical event created by the weavers’ collective Te Puāwai Raranga.
New and experienced weavers will share their creations, exploring traditional plant-based practices and upcycled materials like plastic blinds, cable ties and recycled garments, to celebrate Māori art and culture and to raise awareness of the need for environmental change.
At PAPA, Aucklanders will together experience performance, music, weaving, art, fashion and community. Suitable for all ages, and presented in partnership with Kāhui St David’s centre for music and the performing arts – where everyone gets to walk on the red carpet!
