Ngā Toi o te Tāhuhu, the Ōtāhuhu College Whakairo and Sculpture Art Exhibition, is a heartfelt and visually striking celebration of the Māori New Year.
This exhibition showcases the exceptional talents of tauira (students) from Ōtāhuhu College, who explore themes of renewal, remembrance and celebration through the art forms of whakairo (carving) and sculpture.
Each work in the exhibition honours the past, embraces the present, and looks toward the future, reflecting the essence of Matariki as a time for reflection, renewal and rejoicing.
The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their connections to the stars, the land and each other.
Exhibition opening: 24 May, 11am.
