The Matariki Mushroom fale, is an outdoor installation that celebrates Matariki with a queer grounding.
It brings together communities and the beautiful connection of Tangata Whenua and Tangata Moana utilising re-enchantment as a re-indigenizing praxis.
The installation will feature a life-size fale with a mushroom designed roof with Māori and Moana motifs on the Pou. Māori artist Huriana Kopeke-Te Aho and Samoan/Niuean create the designs, alongside Artist Fuimaono-Tuimafuiva Falesātaua Mush Iosefo.
