In celebration of Matariki, Kirikiriroa-based artist Kahurangiariki Smith presents a specially curated collection of taniwha works, Taniwha besties ride or die.
The exhibition showcases both cherished pieces from the past and new creations to welcome the arrival of the New Year. Kahurangiariki Smith’s waka are Te Arawa, Tainui, Takitimu, Horouta and Mataatua.
Having been raised with traditional Māori values, she has a keen interest in her heritage and the stories of her ancestors.
