Hīkoi ki te Wai

Hikoi Ki Te Wai

Wander the waterfront to find the nine panels corresponding to ngā whetū o Matariki while exploring the ways that water moves through this urban landscape, connecting whenua and moana, and how we can care for this precious resource.

This self-guided walking tour is an opportunity to learn about the ways water is considered in urban design; the histories of the unique landscape of the Tāmaki Makaurau waterfront, where reclaimed land now supports a thriving community; and the future of our connection to the moana, as we strive towards healing the coastal intersection between land and sea.
