Master carver Natanahira Pona presents a solo exhibition showcasing his expertise in whakairo (carving). Natanahira has served as the creative director of multiple sculpture symposiums and has participated in events as far afield as Nepal.
His work reflects deep ancestral narratives, connecting past and present through form and symbolism. This exhibition aligns with Matariki themes of remembrance and renewal, offering the public a free opportunity to engage with the artistry and cultural significance of whakairo.
This exhibition will also feature works by collaborators Sophie Riley, Tony Pecotic, Mike Raven, Ziggy Raven, Arapeta Hakura, Kawika Aspii, Anthea Ward, Wai Ching and Arihi Stevenson.
