We’re celebrating Matariki regionwide and within our city centre’s waterfront - Matariki ki te Manawa – in the heart of our city!

Matariki ki te Manawa features more than 25 special city centre events and activations to celebrate this special time of the year.

There’s something for everyone, every day, including Pakiata Matariki, a large-scale light show that will illuminate the Chief Post Office building. Matariki on the Waterfront is a two-day event of music, kai and culture, and there will be activations, workshops and markets in Britomart and Commercial Bay. Queen Street with sparkle with light and art installations, and special exhibitions will feature in our galleries and public spaces.
