Matariki Ahunga Nui
Celebrate Matariki with friends and whānau (family) at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. At this free event, purchase kai (food), shop at te mākete (the market) and keep the tamariki (children) busy making craft inspired by Matariki. Join renowned choreographer and dancer Taane Mete (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Korokī Kahukura) for a performance conceived especially for Matariki, Marae in the Sky.
Listen to Grammy Award-winner Jerome Kavanagh showcase his whānau collection of over 50 taonga puoro (traditional Māori Instruments) in Power to the Puoro.
Please note some activations will have limited numbers. All sessions are drop-in.
