Te Pā Harakeke o Britomart

Celebrate our first public holiday that recognises Te Ao Māori, Matariki, at Te Pā Harakeke o Britomart!

This is a time for remembrance, celebration and looking to the future, so head to Britomart and journey through Te Pā Harakeke, for a unique cultural experience. The event features a rebuild of a Māori village, reminiscent of an old Pā, and activities to learn about traditional practices; toi Māori / Māori art, rongoā / traditional healing and te reo Māori.

Catch-up with whānau, explore the village and make the most of the interactive and educational programme that includes craft, performance, visual arts and kai vendors. A great way to celebrate our first ever public holiday that recognises the mana of mātauranga Māori.
