Pounamu Carving

Learn about Māori arts practices in this one-day workshop, while creating your very own marama (moon) taonga (treasure). Participants will use diamond wheels, drills, wet and dry sanding and polishing tools to create their pendant. Traditional Polynesian braiding and lashing techniques will complete the pendant in this contemporary tikanga (values and practices) based workshop. Suitable for ages 12 and above. All materials and equipment are provided.
