Ngā Whetū o Aotea Motairehe Matariki
Enjoy a traditional Māori cultural experience with Ngā Whetū o Aotea at Motairehe Marae on Aotea / Great Barrier Island. There is only one place on the Island where you can be welcomed onto a traditional marae and take part in an unforgettable pōwhiri (official Māori welcome), share a hāngī meal and climb a hill to stargaze over the ocean.
Everyone is welcome to come and share food, stories and stargaze. Stay overnight and join the community for breakfast in the morning, while sitting by the fire and sharing the warmth of some great company and food.
