Kia Kaha Puke: We've Got This

This exhibition features images by local photographer, Denise Matene. During the first Covid-19 lockdown in Aotearoa, Matene documented a wide range of moments taking place in this unprecedented time. Turning her lens on the nationwide experience of being both together and apart, Matene focused on recognisable images – from essential workers and supermarket queues to teddy bears and the empty streets of Pukekohe.

Showing during the Matariki season, Matene’s exhibition presents an opportunity to both reflect on the year that's been and to welcome the new year, with the strength and kindness felt across Pukekohe and Aotearoa during lockdown.
