Introduction to Bone Carving with Maha Tomo

Come and enjoy a day of fun and learning while making a beautiful Māori taonga (treasure) pendant from beef bone and pāua shell. Participants will be able to choose from two designs, the hei matau (fish hook) or roimata (tear drop). Values such as tikanga (processes), whanaungatanga (togetherness), manaakitanga (support) and mahi toi (working towards a finished art piece) will be incorporated. Spaces are limited, booking essential.
