Pounamu Taonga Workshop at Uxbridge Arts Centre
Come and enjoy a fun day creating a pounamu pendant in this tikanga-based contemporary workshop. Participants will be able to choose to make one of three designs; rei niho (whales tooth), tangaroa a mua (half moon pendant) or braided Marama (full moon shape). There will be a presentation about pounamu and participants will be introduced to new skills through the design process, use of tools and machinery, as well as binding techniques used in Māori object art. Limited spaces available. Light refreshments and lunch provided.
