Celebrating Matariki Workshops - Ceramic Star Mobiles

About the event


The stars were used by the Ist Polynesian people who ventured to Aotearoa as a source of navigation. Using leather-hard clay, students will carve and decorate Maori symbols. Ceramic stains will be painted onto the clay using traditonal colours. The finsihed stars will become a classroom Matariki mobile.
