Waiata Maumahara (Learning sessions)

Learn a waiata tira (choral song) composed for this year’s Matariki Festival, paying tribute to those who have passed on and to acknowledge West Auckland. Join the students of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Hoani Waititi Marae and other West Auckland schools to learn this waiata. Everyone is then welcome to be part of the public performance on Sunday 23 June, outside Glen Eden Library, in honour of those who have transcended to the stars. A memorable start to the Matariki celebrations for 2019, proudly presented by Waitākere Ranges Local Board.
