In the spirit of careful looking and learning, we will discover more about manu tukutuku kites, including their history and methods of construction. Students will create and decorate their own mini kites. The wing designs will be inspired by traditional Māori symbols from the natural world, applied to dyed card. Students will also sculpt a small clay bird’s head to place at the top, completing the activity by adding a woven harakeke kite tail.
