Toi Manawa Māori Art Workshops
Meet new people and enjoy a fun-filled day learning how to bind and finish your own bone carving, while gaining insight into customary Māori practices.
Toi Manawa offer interactive Māori art workshops, promoting wellness through creativity and positive outcomes for all. Learn to incorporate values such as tikanga (protocols), whakawhanaungatanga (togetherness), manaakitanga (support), and mahi toi (the arts), while working towards a finished art piece. Enjoy a day of fun and learning, while getting insight and an understanding of customary Māori practices from established artist Maha Tomo (Ngai Tahu, Tainui, Ngāti Kauwhata). Please bring a plate for a shared lunch.
