Forest has the Blues
Entangled in the richness of our native forest are the tendrils of unwanted weeds. Forest has the Blues is an installation project, bringing the unique plant life of Aotearoa into the gallery space, where nine printmakers have collaborated to create a large-scale urban forest. Alongside the installation is a miniature forest of seedlings - small native trees for local residents to take home, encouraging better backyard biodiversity. The exhibition draws attention to the native forest presence in our urban areas and the threats they face from invasive weeds.
