Fish Refuge at Tararata
Tararata’s fishy neighbours have a new residence in their stream. Join the team as they bless the installation of a huge boulder, erupted from nearby Waitomokia Maunga thousands of years ago. Underwater is a refuge for fish, constructed to provide shelter from storm flows and hiding places during the day. A Māori blessing will be followed by fish viewings and stories from The Fishman, as well as native tree planting.
